Ananz fails to secure record

19/08/2008 9:31:00 AM
Great Western wonder horse Ananz finished fourth in her final of the Australian Breeders Crown Series Two Year-Old Fillies Final on Sunday.

Ananz, who was $2.10 favourite, pocketed $15,050 for her efforts which is not enough to help her claim the mantle of Australia's richest two year-old filly.

That feat remains with Lombo La Fe Fe after Ananz was beaten 10.20 metres by Emma Stewart trained Keppel Bay.

Warren Bird trained Miss Athens finished last of the field in the group one final.

Paul Jones trained mare Sigidas secured first-up success at Horsham on Sunday for jockey Linda Meech.
